Walnut Bayou Irrigation Project

Sponsor – Southwest Arkansas RC&D Area

Purpose – Establish the Walnut Bayou Irrigation District to secure funds and technical resources to provide a source of water to irrigate crops in the walnut bayou watershed area.

Highlights

  • Formulated Project Administrative Board
  • Secured $225,000 in project funds from State and Federal sources
  • Completed Project Feasibility Study
  • Commenced Project Construction Study
  • Project to benefit 30,000 acres of cropland
