Priority Items for RFPP Grants
The following will be considered as priority items in Rural Fire Protection
Program grants.
Pressurized Hydrant
- May include Hydrant, Valves, and Installation Labor
- Placed on existing lines only. The minimum line size must be 4 inch with
6 inch preferred.
- The hydrant must be capable of flowing 250 gpm at 20 psi residual
pressure.
Dry Hydrant (including head, strainer, pipe, adapter, installation,
and site preparation)
Pond (with installed dry hydrant)
Agricultural Well Modification – valve, piping, and adapter. (well
must flow minimum 250 gpm)
Water Supply Tanker
- Minimum 1000 gallon - 1800 to 2500 gallon tankers are preferred and will
be given priority.
- Must be safe to operate and within the vehicle’s GVWR.
- Must have a dump valve, quick connect fittings, and a drop tank to be
considered.
- Funding cannot be used to purchase or install a pump on the tanker.
- Pumper trucks with a large water tank will not be considered as tankers.
- Tankers constructed by the Arkansas Forestry Commission are encouraged.

- Gated Intake Valve (4 ½, 5 or 6 inch)
- Low Level Strainer (4 ½, 5 or 6 inch)
- Flexible Suction Hose (4 ½, 5 or 6 inch)
- Tanker Quick Connects
- Hydrant Valve (quarter-turn or gate valve)
- Portable Drop Tank for new or existing tanker
- 10 X 10 inch Dump Valve for new or existing tanker
- Dry Hydrant Adapter – Double Female
- Supply Hose (2 ½, 3, 4, or 5 inch)
- Gated Wye - 2 ½ inch X (2) 1 ½ inch
- Gated Wye – LDH X (2) 2 ½ inch
- 1 ½ or 1 ¾ inch Hose
- 1 ½, 1 ¾ inch, or 2 ½ inch Nozzles
- 2 ½ inch Nozzle
- Hydrant Wrenches / Spanner Wrenches
Communications Equipment
- Base Stations, Mobile Radios, Portable Radios, Pagers
